Belarus’ Defense Ministry: Reinforcing southern border continues on schedule

MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) - The Belarusian army continues reinforcing some sections of the state border of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA learned from the Defense Ministry of Belarus.

Paratroopers, tankers, motorized riflemen, artillerymen, air defense systems are on combat duty 24/7 patrolling the territories, manning checkpoints and conducting reconnaissance using drones.
The Armed Forces work in close cooperation with the local authorities, border guards and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Particular attention is paid to anti-drone protection measures. Armored vehicles are equipped with various types of anti-drone protection.

"Units of the special operations forces have been deployed to the designated area to reinforce the border. Every day we conduct tactical training, improve cohesion of units. Strongholds and border have been equipped in terms of engineering,” a serviceman of the special operations forces said. “The situation on the border as a whole is tense, but under control. Every day we record flights of reconnaissance unmanned aircraft from the Ukrainian side, the work of electronic and optical reconnaissance equipment. Foot patrols work around the clock along the state border, and checkpoints are on duty. We keep in touch with local residents, with whom we have been working for several years. If they spot some suspicious persons or unfamiliar equipment they notify us immediately."
The terrain in which special operations forces operate is usually not easy. "These are impenetrable forests, swamps, water hazards. All personnel are determined and driven. We are defending our Motherland. This is a great honor for us," the serviceman of the special operations forces added.
