Belarus, Azerbaijan to mutually recognize each other’s driver’s licenses

MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – The Council of Ministers of Belarus has approved the agreement between the governments of Belarus and Azerbaijan on the mutual recognition of driver’s licenses. The relevant resolution was signed by Belarus’ Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin, BelTA learned from the government’s press service.

The intergovernmental agreement on the mutual recognition and exchange of driver’s licenses was signed in Baku on 16 January 2026.

The document stipulates that each country will recognize driver’s licenses issued by the other’s authorities. Once citizens of Belarus and Azerbaijan receive permission for permanent residence, they will be able to exchange their driver’s licenses without taking any additional theoretical or practical exams.
