Beglov: Integration is impossible without inter-regional contacts

MINSK, 15 July (BelTA) – Integration is impossible without interaction at the regional level, St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov told reporters following his meeting with Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova, BelTA has learned.

“I am grateful to Natalya Ivanovna for a wonderful meeting. We often meet in St. Petersburg when she comes. And I would like to note that the interaction between the parliaments of Russia and Belarus gives an additional impetus, opens up cooperation opportunities in absolutely all areas, including healthcare, youth policy, manufacturing, in other words, all sectors that contribute to the development of our countries. And the most important things are safeguarding and promoting people’s interests, improving the quality of life. This is one of the main issues,” said Alexander Beglov.
According to him, much attention was paid to youth policy during the meeting. “Our task, first of all, is to protect our youth, our younger generation from external influences. This is one of the main issues. Because today the internet and many technologies work to eradicate the patriotism that we can see today in the Republic of Belarus and in our country. We know how our enemies operate. Our task is to raise a generation of patriots that will protect the legacy of their grandparents, parents, their ancestors, who will know their history, will defend cultural values. And for this we need integration, as Belarusian President Aleksandr Grigorievich Lukashenko said. It is necessary to integrate manufacturing sectors, culture, sports, youth policies, and healthcare. And this would be very difficult to do without interaction at the regional level,” the governor said. Everyone should be involved in this process: authorities, local governments, youth organizations, added Alexander Beglov.
