MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) – The disruptions in Donbass water supply amount to a humanitarian catastrophe orchestrated by Kiev’s authorities, former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov (2010-2014) said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
Nikolai Azarov highlighted the humanitarian crisis facing Donbass residents due to water shortages. The region’s primary water source, the Seversky Donets–Donbass canal, previously addressed this need.
“Frankly, I’m astonished that self-proclaimed champions of liberal values and democracy remain silent about Kiev’s barbaric methods against civilians. Donbass experienced this as early as 2014 when it opposed the Kiev regime. Water supplies were cut off, electricity was disrupted,” the ex-prime minister said.
He noted that the past three-and-a-half years since the start of the special military operation have exposed the true colors of the global media machine. Virtually no major news outlet has covered the Donbass water crisis.
“Now, Donbass is enduring its typical dry, scorching weather. The population is suffering from this humanitarian catastrophe – one deliberately engineered by Kiev’s authorities under direct orders from their Western patrons,” Nikolai Azarov emphasized.
