MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – Another batch of Su-30SM2 fighter jets has landed at a Belarusian airfield. A number of Su-30SM2 fighter jets had been received by the Air Force and Air Defense Command of the Belarusian army previously, the press service of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
Deputy Chief of the Air Force and Air Defense Command, Chief of the Aviation, Colonel Aleksandr Belyayev noted that the main task of the aviators is to defend Belarus’ air borders. “They represent the first line of defense. The acquisition of new aviation equipment is always a cause for celebration for the warrior aviators,” he noted.
It is an honor and a pleasure to fly a fighter that has just been made but it comes with a lot of responsibility, the officer stressed. “The feeling of responsibility that aviation personnel feel as they service such aviation equipment is simply off the charts. We have no right to fail our nation and our country. This is why we will do everything for our beloved Motherland to remain peaceful and prosperous,” he concluded.
