
MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – The summit of the Eurasian Economic Union has kicked off in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
In 2025, Belarus presides over the EAEU bodies. Therefore, the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting- the first one this year - is being chaired by Aleksandr Lukashenko.
This year is special for the Eurasian Economic Union. In 2025, the implementation of the Eurasian economic integration strategies will be completed, thus the member states need to draft a new plan of joint actions.
All in all, there are 14 issues on the summit agenda, and almost all of them are to be discussed in an expanded format. They concern international activities, Eurasian economic integration strategies, liberalization of services in the EAEU, economic cooperation in sports, as well as trade and economic cooperation with the EAEU’s main partners.
During a narrow-format meeting, the heads of state will hear reports on the development of a labeling system in the Eurasian Economic Union. However, the agenda of the negotiations might be expanded.
