MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) - We will spare no expense on science, but we need results, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during a meeting with scientists on 31 January, BelTA has learned.
“I have great respect for the labor of scientists. I bow to what scientists do. I have always helped scientists as far as possible, understanding that there's no progress without science. In the current five-year period the attention to science will be even closer. But this attention will not be paid to science in general. I have said what we will pay more attention to. We will support the things that are required in the market today as well as in the society (not only in our society). We will pay attention to what brings money, resources. No matter how difficult it can be, we will spare no expense on science, but we need results. There will be no support without the result,” the Belarusian leader stressed.
“We will support you in specific areas that bring big benefits. If your projects earn Br15 for every invested Br1, then our doors will always be open for you,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
