Lukashenko: We cherish the memory of the past and face the future boldly

MINSK, 8 January (BelTA) - Belarus cherishes the memory of the past, moves forward confidently and face the future boldly, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the ceremony to present the Spiritual Revival Award, special prizes to art luminaries, and Belarusian Sports Olympus awards for 2024, BelTA has learned.

“All the achievements of the prize winners and their activities have a high spiritual and patriotic sound. It is especially important now when the country is gearing up to celebrate the sacred date - the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. We cherish the memory of the past, confidently move forward and face the future boldly,” the head of state said.

He thanked the prize winners for their achievements and victories, noting that other things were also important: “The significance of your work is much greater than you probably think. Each of your success inspires many Belarusians to new deeds, as kind, humane and very necessary. That is why from year to year we meet on this stage with people who are driven by the sincerest feelings - loyalty to their vocation and love for their native land.”

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, the award winners are true heroes, creators of real art, keepers of the soul of the Belarusian people. “Today we are celebrating the merits of cultural figures who preserve and enrich the national treasury, awaken interest in folk crafts, foster respect for our traditions,” he said.

Among the awardees are also clergymen, doctors, social workers - people who are not indifferent and who lend a helping hand to those who face difficulties. They do it unselfishly, at the call of their hearts taking care of children in difficult life situations.

“We are proud of the successes of our famous athletes and coaches, who have been presented with the Belarusian Sports Olympus awards,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.
