Lukashenko vows to preserve people-first economy model, continue fight against corruption

MINSK, 25 March (BelTA) – The people-first economy model will be preserved and the relentless fight against red tape and corruption will continue. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made the statement during an inauguration ceremony in the Palace of Independence on 25 March, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “Despite all the challenges we will preserve the people-first economy model based on mutual responsibility of the state and the public. We will continue working to improve the efficiency of state administration as well as the relentless fight against red tape and corruption. As always we will do it openly and publicly. We will resolve this problem within this five-year term. I promise it.”

The head of state stressed that mass media are expected to play a major role in the process: “They have no right to lag behind the current agenda, the real life and needs of the society.
