MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) – Deputy prime ministers will have much more influence in the new Belarusian government, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he made appointments to the economic team of the government on 3 March, BelTA has learned.
As the head of state pointed out, the current team can be called "new old". Many of those who were appointed held the same positions before the presidential election. So voters knew in advance who the president would work with.
The deputy prime ministers will play a great role in the government. “Once again, I would like to outline the guiding principles of work for the future government, which I will insist on. The deputy prime ministers will now have much more weight. The chairman of the government organizes the work of the government, leads government meetings, but in no case makes any one-man decisions and he does not dominate over the members of the government, especially the deputy prime ministers,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.

For example, the president appointed Nikolai Snopkov as First Deputy Prime Minister. He will lead the government's economic team. He will oversee the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, Taxes and Duties Ministry, Finance Ministry, Economy Ministry, Communications and Informatization Ministry and the State Property Committee.

While making some appointments, the head of state outlined the key tasks facing the economic team of the government.
