MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – The United States will not be able to stop China but can seek an agreement with it, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said in his Address to the Belarusian People and Parliament, BelTA has learned.
“The People’s Republic of China is [our] second-largest trading partner after Russia. It is the unequivocal world leader today. I told the Americans long ago: you are at least 25 years too late. You cannot stop China now, you simply cannot. The only viable path is to reach an agreement with China,” the president stated.
He added that China is in no rush, working steadily and purposefully toward its objectives. “It is an ancient civilization and should be treated as such. Missiles and military strikes cannot stop drug trade or human trafficking. The same principle applies to the economy,” the head of state concluded.
