Lukashenko to review project implementation in Polesie

LYASKOVICHI, 4 October (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is set to review the implementation of projects in Polesie during his working trip to Gomel Oblast on 4 October, BelTA has learned.

The focus will be on the development of livestock farming, using the modernization of the Lyaskovichi Dairy Farm, owned by the Agro-Lyaskovichi agricultural company. A key feature of this area is its extensive reclaimed lands, which, if properly maintained, can provide a reliable fodder base for the livestock industry. The farm is now actively adopting the advanced practices of the Parakhonskoye farm from Pinsk District.

During a working trip to the region this May, Aleksandr Lukashenko visited Agro-Lyaskovichi. Back then he was briefed on the plans to modernize the dairy farm and instructed the team to accelerate their implementation. The construction of new facilities, including a milking parlor and cow sheds, is scheduled for completion this year.

The head of state is personally overseeing the region's development and has repeatedly heard reports on the matter from responsible officials, including Head of the Belarus President Administration Yuri Nazarov, under whose purview Agro-Lyaskovichi falls. Other regional development projects are also being implemented in the agro-town of Lyaskovichi. One of them is a woodworking enterprise, which Aleksandr Lukashenko had also visited previously.

As BelTA previously reported, a development program for the districts of Pripyat Polesie for 2025-2030 was approved in January 2025. It was drafted in line with an instruction from the Belarusian president.
The document is designed to improve the prosperity and quality of life in the districts of the Pripyat Polesie: the districts of Gantsevichi, Luninets, Stolin, and Pinsk of Brest Oblast, and the districts of Yelsk, Zhitkovichi, Kalinkovichi, Lelchitsy, and Petrikov of Gomel Oblast. Growth will be driven by: more efficient use of the unique natural resources, a stronger industrial sector, the adoption of best practices in agriculture, and the development of a comfortable environment that blends the advantages of rural living with urban-level infrastructure and services.
