MINSK, 17 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated personnel and veterans of the Air Force on their professional holiday – Air Force Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.
“You have bound your destiny to the skies, choosing the defense of the Motherland’s air borders as your life’s mission, and you continue to write the history of Belarus’ military aviation. Every page of this history is a chronicle of the combat and labor heroism of past generations. Military pilots displayed extraordinary courage during the Great Patriotic War, while providing international aid, and during the elimination of the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Even today, their heroism remains a shining example for the youth, servicemen, and civilian personnel of all aviation units in the Belarusian army,” the message reads.
The president expressed confidence that the Air Force personnel will remain true to the best traditions established by veterans and will continue safeguarding the country’s peaceful skies.
