Lukashenko sends Independence Day greetings to Pakistan

MINSK, 14 August (BelTA) – On behalf of Belarusians and personally, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended congratulations to President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and all Pakistanis on their national holiday – Independence Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The history of your country is a vivid testament to the people’s resolve in upholding sovereignty and independence, their peace-loving nature, and their commitment to a just world order,” reads the congratulatory message to the Pakistani president.

The president of Belarus emphasized that Minsk considers Islamabad a reliable friend and partner: “We are open to large-scale interstate cooperation, both bilaterally and multilaterally. I am confident that in the near future, we will be able to make the most of the existing significant potential of Belarus-Pakistan cooperation.”

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, in his message to Shehbaz Sharif, recalled their recent meetings in Islamabad and Minsk: “I hope for the successful implementation of all agreements on joint projects in mechanical engineering, light industry, and other sectors, as well as the supply of BelAZ trucks to Pakistan and the deployment of qualified Pakistani specialists to work in Belarus,” the head of state noted.

The Belarusian leader emphasized his openness to discussing any issues with the prime minister of Pakistan, as well as his readiness to work out mutually beneficial solutions.
