Lukashenko: Russia and China are vitally important states for Belarus

MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – Russia and China are vitally important states for Belarus’ existence, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during the meeting with State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Sergey Glazyev in Minsk on 16 February, BelTA has learned.

The head of state pointed out that the West, including the United States, closed the door on Belarus and “didn’t even offer the window as a way in.” “The Chinese and Russians have always kept their doors open. Did we do something wrong? Did we ever act against the USA in any way? No. It’s all clear. Here is our position: Russia and China are vitally important states for Belarus’ existence,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.

“You understand this perfectly well. Hence all sorts of remarks, even by Maria Zakharova [official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova] or by the deputy foreign minister who says that they just give us friendly advice, recommendations. Look, I have been president for over 30 years. You and I have known each other for a very long time. I have seen various presidents. Some people say that I have seen five U.S. presidents. I have witnessed different situations. And it is impossible to trick me out of the blue or to sideline me,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted. “I have great experience in this regard. I can give advice to many, many Russians, and if you join in, we can advise many people on how to deal with this mad West, whose core is the United States of America.”
