BISHKEK, 26 November (BelTA) - Minsk is ready to host the Ukraine peace talks, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Bishkek on 26 November, BelTA has learned.
“Should you wish to come back to Minsk again (and it would be a suitable venue), you know we are always ready. As for Ukraine, we are often criticized… You see, we are in dialogue with both the Western countries and the USA. When they bring this up, I ask them if they know that we [the peoples of Belarus and Russia] are the closest of kin. Our actions are legally grounded, we are allies, after all,” Aleksandr Lukashenko.
“This is why even the Americans, and we must give them their due, never bring up this matter. It was settled once and for all, it’s a closed subject. And no further discussions on this should take place. I hope that everything will turn out fine. Based on recent developments. That is, if the USA acts with caution (I will now say publicly what I told them), recognizing that this is a complex issue demanding complex solutions,” the head of state said.
