DRIBIN DISTRICT, 13 March (BelTA) - The task for agricultural workers is to harvest more this year than in the already successful 2025 season, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko told the media on 13 March, BelTA has learned.
The head of state was asked what, in his opinion, the 2026 agricultural harvest will be like, considering the unusual weather conditions - a snowy, cold winter and a sunny, early spring.
Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that last year the country received a good harvest of grains and other crops. Therefore, in the coming years, when assessing the performance of farmers and harvest levels, we must use the high benchmark set in 2025.
“Last year we got 11.1 million tonnes [of grain crops] across the country. This is a very high harvest in recent years. And I told them [officials responsible for developing the agricultural sector]: we cannot go lower,” Aleksandr Lukashenko explained. “And we will build on this year’s results. That is the task.”
