Lukashenko opines on USA's true attitude to Belarus

MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – The USA could not care less about Belarus as such, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he answered a question of a journalist from The Wall Street Journal during the Big Conversation with the President on 9 August, BelTA has learned.

“You are far away and you do not care about what is happening in Belarus. You cannot even locate it on a map. And after 10 minutes you forgot who you treated with cookies,” the head of state said.

“You just use your monopoly right to print foreign currency and control its circulation. You took advantage of the events in Europe, Asia to turn into a powerful empire, but this empire is slowly sliding down thanks to your incomprehensible policy,” he continued.

Aleksandr Lukashenko admitted that it is still difficult for Belarusians to compete with Americans. Speaking about the red lines that foreign states should not cross in relations with Belarus, the head of state noted that he did not mean the United States of America. “I cannot say that I drew the red line for America. It is very difficult for me to draw this red line taking into consideration the Belarusian potential and my capabilities,” he said.
