MINSK, 8 May (BelTA) - The Northern Waterfront investment project should look to the future, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said during his visit to the Minsk International Exhibition Center on 8 May, BelTA has learned.
After opening the exhibition center, the head of state got familiar with the implementation of the Northern Waterfront project. Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev briefed the president on the construction progress.
Aleksandr Lukashenko asked whether the investors were fulfilling their obligations. Vladimir Kukharev confirmed that the works were being carried out in accordance with the schedule.

“Remember just one thing: when you inspect the progress (I also drive by and take a look), make sure everything looks ahead to the future. This is not a project for the present day. This is a project of the future, from kindergarten, school to a smart city,” the head of state said.
The head of state also instructed to landscape the adjacent grounds.
“Do not expect more investment here. They are using their own funds to build this for Minsk. This is quite a bit. The rest will be earmarked for the regions,” the president added.
