NAYPYIDAW, 28 November (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Min Aung Hlaing at the Presidential Palace in Naypyidaw. One-on-one and expanded-format talks took place here, BelTA has learned.
The Presidential Palace is the official residence and office of the President of Myanmar in the capital. The building was constructed and opened in 2010. The Palace comprises 100 rooms and is used exclusively for national ceremonies, diplomatic receptions, and government meetings.

The Belarusian leader was escorted to the meeting venue by a mounted honor guard of 54 riders. This is the first such occurrence in the history of Myanmar’s protocol practice, underscoring the special status of the visit.
The welcoming ceremony for Aleksandr Lukashenko and Min Aung Hlaing was also solemn in nature. The Belarusian head of state was greeted by an honor guard company, and a military band performed the national anthems of Belarus and Myanmar. After a joint photo session, Aleksandr Lukashenko signed the guest book at the Presidential Palace.

As BelTA previously reported, the leaders of Belarus and Myanmar discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation and the implementation of joint projects. This included the development of cooperation in agriculture, food security, industry, and pharmaceuticals.

The agenda for the talks also included a substantial set of issues concerning humanitarian cooperation.
An assessment was made of the progress in implementing the agreements reached during the high-level talks in Minsk in March and June 2025.
