MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) - The research by Belarusian polar explorers should be applied in the real sector of the economy, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with scientists and participants of Belarusian Antarctic expeditions in Minsk on 17 October, BelTA has learned.
"We have substantial scientific and production capabilities. We have designed the equipment for use in extreme conditions. Some individual units are unique and have no analogues in the world. We need to learn not only to use them, but also to sell them. Everything should bring money. Life is like that," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
The president believes that it would be good if the technological and engineering solutions and materials tested in the Antarctic find their use in various industries in the country. The head of state suggested thinking about how the research of Belarusian polar explorers can be applied in the real sector of the economy.
"This will contribute to the development of competencies in the related sectors, stimulate high-tech industries," Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.
