
MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – In response to a request from the U.S. president and other heads of state, as a gesture of goodwill and out of consideration for humanitarian principles, the Belarusian president has pardoned a number of foreign citizens convicted of espionage, participation in extremist and terrorist activities, and other criminal offenses in Belarus, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.
A total of 14 foreign citizens have been pardoned.
Six of them are citizens of Lithuania, two are from Latvia, two from Poland, two from Germany, one is a citizen of France, and one is a citizen of the United Kingdom.
