MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) - Peace is the most superior value for all nations, and it is important to preserve it in Belarus, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a meeting with representatives of religious denominations in Minsk on 10 February, BelTA learned.
The president recalled that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. During the war, representatives of various religious denominations defended the Belarusian land.
“We have defeated fascism together and won peace sealed with the blood of many peoples. We cherish this peace greatly,” the Belarusian leader said. "No wonder there is a tradition of joint interfaith prayer for peace in Belarus. I always emphasize that peace is the most superior value for any nation, for all peoples. We must preserve it,” he stated.
