MINSK, 30 January (BelTA) - We need to do the most we can for Belarusian women this year, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he spoke to the employees of the Planar enterprise on 30 January, BelTA has learned.
The head of state recalled that 2026 has been declared the Year of the Belarusian Woman in Belarus. “Slogans are good. But we need to do something for women, not necessarily every day, but at least one meaningful event per week or per month. The year will pass, and women will remember this Year of the Woman. We must do the maximum for our women this year. This isn’t just to please you, women. You are truly the foundation of our lives,” he said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed officials to consider what events to hold during this year to make it memorable. Addressing, among others, attending Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova and Press Secretary Natalya Eismont, the head of state said: “Think together with the Women’s Union about how we can ensure that women remember not just that the president declared the Year of the Woman, but that they remember this year itself. What should we do, what events should we hold? Do not pay attention to the men. They’ll fit in. Think about it, Natalya Ivanovna [Kochanova], you are responsible for this. Whatever you decide, we will do.”
