
KAZAN, 23 October (BelTA) — Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko was asked by journalist Olga Skabeyeva whether he will run again in the presidential election scheduled for 26 January 2025, BelTA has learned.

"Lukashenko has decided to run for a new term," the journalist wrote in her Telegram channel. She cited the dialog that took place during the interview:
Skabeyeva: Aleksandr Grigoryevich, are you running again? The date has been announced today - 26 January 2025.
Lukashenko: The date is nice.
Skabeyeva: Well, I'm not talking about the date.
Lukashenko: Do you want me to announce my decision in your [60 Minutes] TV show?

Skabeyeva: Will you?
Lukashenko: Yes, Olya, I'll run again.
Skabeyeva: We will support you.
Lukashenko: Then it’s definitely a yes!
