Call on delegates of Belarusian People's Congress to engage in 2030 program discussion

MINSK, 25 November (BelTA) –Delegates of the Belarusian People's Congress need to engage in active discussion of the draft social and economic development program, Belarusian President, Chairman of the Belarusian People’s Congress Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a meeting of its Presidium in Minsk on 25 November, BelTA has learned.

The Presidium discussed the agenda for the upcoming session of the Belarusian People's Congress. The congress is set to approve the country's social and economic development program for the next five years. Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian People's Congress Aleksandr Kosinets noted that every delegate has the right to submit comments or proposals. All of these will then be forwarded to the Secretariat of the Belarusian People's Congress.

“Let us agree that indeed all delegates must be involved, no matter what position they hold. Whether they are great scientists or they are workers and farmers, they must, to the best of their ability, education and so on,  understand what is being discussed, and, if necessary, voice their opinions. We must not forbid anyone from speaking,” the president said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko pointed out that the Belarusian People's Congress is formed from among members of parliament, trade unions, and public organizations, among others. He noted that they should also speak at the congress, having previously discussed this program beforehand. “Not only Brest Oblast or Mogilev Oblast, as usual. They come, they speak, based on a regional principle. But we did not form the Belarusian People's Congress based on a regional principle. Therefore, we need to think about this, so that people are prepared to speak and have their say,” added the head of state.
Thus, the president believes that the Belarusian People's Congress will present a new perspective in terms of the centers of its formation. “People should speak. This is a serious forum, it will remain in the history not only of the country but of every person,” the head of state emphasized.
