MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has signed a directive “On the preparation of textbooks in the humanities and social sciences,” BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The document provides for the establishment of a state commission for the preparation of textbooks and teaching aids in the humanities and social sciences, and defines the key areas of its work.

The education minister will head the commission. Its membership includes prominent scientists, university professors, practicing teachers in the field of humanities and social sciences, as well as representatives of government bodies, the parliament, and public associations.

The Education Ministry will be responsible for providing organizational and methodological support for the commission’s activities and improving the content of textbooks and teaching aids for the current five-year period.

The directive aims to ensure a gradual update of textbooks and teaching aids based on unified conceptual approaches to such literature across all levels of education, in line with state interests.
