
MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) - Belarus and Cuba remain committed to a policy of strengthening peace and security in the world, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko told the media following his meeting with Cuba President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez in Minsk on 25 June, BelTA has learned.
The parties are convinced that the free and independent development of all countries and peoples, their true equality and the protection of national interests can be ensured only in this way.
Aleksandr Lukashenko expressed gratitude to the president of Cuba for finding the opportunity to visit Belarus and personally take part in the upcoming meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
“We discussed a wide range of bilateral issues with Miguel [Diaz-Canel Bermudez] and outlined further steps to develop the most promising areas of cooperation. We also focused on the complex geopolitical situation. Belarus and Cuba reaffirmed their commitment to a policy of promoting peace and security in the world and to the continued development of a fair and multipolar world,” the Belarusian leader said.
