MINSK, 5 March (BelTA) – The alliance between Russia and the USA is possible and necessary, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said in an interview with U.S. blogger Mario Nawfal, BelTA learned.
Mario Nawfal believes that in the next 10 years Russia and the USA will not only normalize relations but are likely to become allies.
“It's quite possible. First, anything is possible in life. Secondly, Russia and the USA will always be allies. After all, the world’s biggest military power. But this alliance will not be directed against someone,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
“You and Russia can unite against someone only if it is an enemy for Russia and for you. Russia has no enemies today. The United States of America, by and large, has no enemies, either. Therefore, for the planet to be in balance, for the world to be free from those incomprehensible wars like in the Middle East or Ukraine, this alliance between Russia and the USA is possible and is necessary. An alliance for economic development is possible and important. But it’s a long journey. You are right in this respect,” the president said.
