MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) - Ukraine may resort to terrorist attacks using biopathogens, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Sergey Shoigu said in an interview with TASS.
"The probability of Ukraine committing terror attacks, acts of sabotage with the use of biopathogens is high," he said. "The Ukrainian special services try to use minors, young people, retirees, socially disadvantaged and low-income individuals to carry out terrorist attacks such as setting fire to administrative buildings and military recruitment centers or damaging railroad equipment or other critical infrastructure," Sergey Shoigu added.
According to him, “they are actively looking for supporters of pro-Ukrainian nationalist and neo-Nazi groups."
Recent years marked the intensification of sabotage and terrorist activities by the Ukrainian special services, armed groups and neo-Nazi structures, high-intensity attacks and shelling of Russian regions with the use of unmanned aircraft and sea vessels, artillery and missile systems, attempts to assassinate representatives of government bodies, law enforcement agencies and military commanders, Sergey Shoigu said.
"The situation is particularly tense in Russia’s regions bordering Ukraine. We have established cases of Ukraine using chemical warfare agents banned under international conventions," the secretary of the Russian Security Council added.
