MOSCOW, 25 November (BelTA) – Western sanctions have not prevented Belarus and Russia from achieving impressive results in their economic relations, Belarusian Foreign Affairs Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov said at a joint meeting of the collegiums of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia in Moscow on 25 November, BelTA has learned.

“As for the economic track: despite ongoing sanctions pressure, we have achieved impressive results in our trade and economic relations. In January-June 2025, Belarus confidently ranked fourth among Russia’s foreign trading partners after China, India, and Türkiye. But if you compare these states with Belarus, it becomes clear how significant our success is in our bilateral cooperation,” Maxim Ryzhenkov said.

The minister paid particular attention to regional cooperation. “The personal involvement of the Belarusian president sets a high standard for interaction. This year alone, he has held 18 meetings with leaders of key Russian regions from Kaliningrad to Khabarovsk. These meetings take place almost weekly,” he noted.
