MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – There is a gross interference in the sovereign affairs of Belarus during the election campaign, Anatoly Glaz, a representative of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told a briefing for the press, BelTA learned.
“A group of agenda-driven MEPs filed a motion for a resolution of the European Parliament on the election in the Republic of Belarus which will be debated today. Already at this stage it is obvious that the document is a gross interference in the electoral processes of a sovereign state, has nothing to do with the real state of affairs and is designed to put pressure on the free expression of the will of Belarusian citizens,” Anatoly Glaz said.
Belarus has repeatedly stated that all anti-Belarusian steps are pre-prepared and have nothing to do with the real situation in the country.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs got hold of a statement of the European External Action Service which it plans to issue after the election, which relies among other things on this draft resolution of the European Parliament. The election has just started, and they already condemn everything and not recognize the results,” Anatoly Glaz said.
