MFA: Belarus condemns aggressive actions creating tension in Latin America

MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – The third round of Belarusian-Venezuelan ministerial consultations was held in Minsk on 22 October, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevgeny Shestakov led the Belarusian delegation, with Venezuela’s delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrea Corao. The negotiations covered a wide range of issues concerning bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in international organizations.
The parties stated they were pleased with the state of the political dialogue and explored ways to enhance trade and economic cooperation and expand the bilateral legal framework.

The parties also exchanged views on the most pressing issues of the regional and global agenda. The Belarusian side confirmed its firm position condemning all aggressive actions that create a tense international situation in the Caribbean and in Latin America as a whole.

As a result of the consultations, the parties outlined steps for further cooperation development and organization of bilateral events. An agreement was reached to hold the 9th meeting of the Belarusian-Venezuelan joint commission on trade and economic cooperation in the near future.
