FM: Belarus maintains stability of its foreign policy course in 2025

MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) – Belarus succeeded in maintaining the stability of its foreign policy course in 2025, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov said at the board meeting to review the ministry’s performance in 2025 on 11 March. The meeting is attended by Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin, BelTA has learned.

“The foreign policy environment around Belarus remained challenging in 2025, yet we managed to ensure the stability of our foreign policy course. Belarus remains open to the comprehensive development of relations with all partners who are ready for dialogue based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and consideration of each other’s national interests,” the minister stressed.
Summarizing the results of the reporting period, he highlighted the key aspects that shaped Belarus’ foreign policy agenda.

“Our unconditional priority remained the strengthening of strategic partnership with the Russian Federation, which in 2025 reached an unprecedented level. The key achievement of the year was the successful implementation of a package of integration measures that made it possible to increase mutual trade to a record high level, $55 billion, and ensure reliable protection of our borders within the updated Security Concept of the Union State,” Maxim Ryzhenkov noted.

He also noted that Belarus’ effective chairmanship of the bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union in 2025 helped give the organization a new impetus.
“The implementation of the 2025 Strategy has been completed, the action plan for the Eurasian Economic Path declaration has been approved, and the international standing of the Eurasian Economic Union has been significantly strengthened,” the minister said. “The achievements of our organization were presented at the key UN platforms in New York and Geneva.”

Maxim Ryzhenkov added: “The signing of agreements with Mongolia, the UAE, and Indonesia, as well as the large-scale Eurasian Economic Forum held in Minsk with delegations from 33 countries, confirmed the status of the EAEU as one of the leading centers of power in a multipolar world.”
He noted that cooperation with CIS countries is gaining momuntum, especially with Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

In addition to the main report delivered by the minister of foreign affairs, presentations will be heard from several ambassadors, the industry and economy ministers, as well as the director of the National Tourism Agency, given the importance of this topic. A presentation by the management of the Orsha Flax Mill is also planned.
Invited to the event are heads of sectoral government bodies, state corporations, the National Bank, Belarusian Statistical Committee, oblast executive committees, and the Minsk City Hall.

The meeting’s results will be summed up by the prime minister, who will also focus on the tasks for 2026.
