ASTANA, 29 May (BelTA) - The heads of state of the Eurasian Economic Union have supported a joint statement on the responsible development of artificial intelligence within the EAEU, BelTA has learned.
The document is aimed at strengthening the global competitiveness of national economies, accelerating the digitalization of key industries, and ensuring the ethical and safe development of artificial intelligence.

As Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev told journalists following the EAEU summit, the statement also defines the strategic direction of partnership in the digital transformation of the EAEU member states’ economies.
“The document focuses on the use of artificial intelligence technologies with regard to national priorities and digital sovereignty,” the EEC chairman emphasized.
