MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Brazil Andrei Andreev participated in a solemn event of the Workers' Party, where Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced the launch of the New Spring initiative, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Brazil.
The new initiative is dedicated to mobilizing supporters of the Brazilian leader to strengthen national sovereignty and protect the democratic system in the context of the evolving global political situation.
The head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission conveyed to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva the words of support from Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko regarding the upcoming elections in Brazil. The Ambassador particularly emphasized that Belarus and Brazil share a commitment to building a strong, socially oriented state and aspire to a sustainable and just world order. Belarus is a reliable partner and friend of Brazil and is committed to intensifying bilateral dialogue in all areas of mutual interest.
During the event, the head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission also met with Vice President Geraldo Alckmin of Brazil, during which the parties discussed priority issues for the development of economic cooperation.
Following the meeting with Governor of Bahia Jerônimo Rodrigues, the parties reaffirmed the previously reached agreements on developing mutually beneficial cooperation across specific areas.
