MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) - Staff of the Belarusian embassy in China took part in a briefing organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China on 14 January, dedicated to the implementation of the outcomes of the SCO summit in Tianjin, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Beijing.
During the event, representatives from various Chinese state organizations reported on the country’s achievements within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization during China’s chairmanship and expressed readiness to develop fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation with all member states of the organization.
China emphasized the following areas: energy, science, technology and innovation, education, green industry, and healthcare.

On 1 September 2025, Belarusian President Aleksnadr Lukashenko took part in the SCO summit in Tianjin. In his address, the head of state noted that the world is currently going through a very challenging period, marked by the formation of a new international order: “The world is rapidly moving from a unipolar model, with its claims to exclusivity and dominance by a certain group of countries, towards a fair multipolar system based on a balance of interests, respect for sovereignty, and mutual trust.”

“This transitional period is accompanied by acute contradictions and conflicts. We see this in various regions, including the Middle East, where serious disagreements persist among key players, posing risks to our entire planet,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
According to him, a number of instances of rising antagonism and confrontation could have been avoided, as they often arise from a trivial lack of communication at the proper level and in the proper tone.

“Unfortunately, not all contradictions bypass the Shanghai family either. But it is precisely the ability to keep communication channels open, the skill of reaching agreements even in the presence of differences - that is what makes the SCO a truly unique and viable organization. In the context of an unstable global situation, unity and cohesion are our most important advantages. Confucius said: ‘When people are united, even the weak become strong; when they are divided, even the strong grow weak’,” the head of state emphasized.
