MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) - China stands ready to enhance cooperation with Belarus in deepening youth exchanges and collaboration, the press representative of the Chinese embassy in Belarus told BelTA while commenting on the adoption of the Global Youth Peace Initiative.
According to the embassy, Beijing has recently hosted the World Youth Conference for Peace under the motto “Together for Peace”, which brought together over 3,000 participants from more than 130 countries, including Belarus.
“China President Xi Jinping sent a letter to the conference participants in which he fully confirmed the important role of youth in maintaining peace in the world and placed great hopes on the youth of all countries in promoting peace and human development,” the press representative of the Chinese embassy in in Belarus said. “The World Youth Peace Initiative was launched during the conference to provide youth with guidance on how to engage in peace.”
The press representative went on saying: “The international situation is now full of change and chaos, and global peaceful development is at a critical juncture. Against this background, this initiative was born. China calls on young people to become defenders of world peace, advocates of mutually beneficial cooperation, introduction of science and technology for the benefit of mankind, participants in the fight against climate change, as well as working together to create the Community with a Shared Future for Mankind.
