MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) - Belarus’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement regarding the situation surrounding Cuba, BelTA learned from the ministry.
“It is with concern that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus is closely monitoring the situation around Cuba and the supply of energy resources to this country,” the document states. "Of particular concern is the threat of the current escalation in the Caribbean region turning into a serious humanitarian crisis with unpredictable consequences.”
“Minsk consistently maintains that the application of unilateral coercive measures is unacceptable, as they create obstacles to trade relations between states, hinder the process of comprehensive social and economic development, and impede the improvement of people’s welfare,” the statement noted.
The document expresses a firm conviction that all disputes must be resolved through peaceful dialogue and within the framework of international law.
