MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) – Eurasia holds the key to developing effective security mechanisms, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Sekreta said as he spoke at the 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security in Minsk on 29 October, BelTA has learned.
“We have repeatedly stated that European security has failed the test of time. The safety mechanisms of trust and conflict prevention measures have failed due to the relentless pursuit of a NATO-centric world order,” Igor Sekreta noted.
He stressed that the Eurasian continent is now the focus of international attention. The Belarusian head of state also talked about it at the Minsk conference on 28 October.
The deputy foreign minister stated that effective security mechanisms hinge on Eurasia, with its thousand-year history of different peoples coexisting and the continuous interaction and blending of its cultures and civilizations.
