MINSK, 28 November (BelTA) - Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Sekreta met with outgoing UNHCR Representative in Belarus Erol Arduç on 28 November, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties reviewed the outcomes of cooperation during Erol Arduç's tenure. The deputy minister also thanked Erol Arduç for coordinating the activities of the UN country team in Belarus as the acting resident coordinator of the United Nations in Belarus in 2023–2024.
During the meeting, appreciation was expressed to the UNHCR Office for providing assistance to Belarus in addressing the migrant situation on its western border with European Union states.
An agreement was reached on maintaining the priorities of cooperation between Belarus and the UNHCR National Office and intensifying its work in the regions of Belarus to achieve sustainable development goals.
