MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – The ceremony for the handover of Belarusian humanitarian aid to Cuba took place in Havana, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Taking part in the ceremony were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Cuba Vitaly Borchuk, Director of the Cuban National Institute of Hematology and Immunology Wilfredo Roque García; as well as representatives from the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The humanitarian aid includes 13 types of items, among which are medicines, canned meat, and whole milk powder.
On behalf of the government and all Cuban people, Wilfredo Roque García sincerely thanked fraternal Belarus for this gesture of goodwill and noted that the humanitarian aid provided by the Belarusian government is very timely and will make a substantial contribution to improving the epidemiological and food situation in Cuba.
