Belarusian FM reaffirms support for Cuba at meeting with ambassador

MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuba to Belarus Santiago Pérez Benítez in Minsk on 16 February, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed the situation around Cuba. The head of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed unwavering support for the fraternal Cuban people, reaffirming Minsk’s position on the unacceptability of applying unilateral coercive measures.

The Belarusian foreign minister emphasized the need to resolve all differences through peaceful dialogue and within the framework of international law.

The parties expressed a shared commitment to continue joint work on maintaining the positive dynamics of Belarusian-Cuban contacts, noting the coordinated efforts of Minsk and Havana to implement the agreements reached during mutual visits at the highest and high levels in 2025.
