MINSK, 26 February (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Cuba Vitaly Borchuk presented his credentials to Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez on 25 February, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the parties highlighted the long-term friendship and partnership between Belarus and Cuba and mutual political support on the international arena. The parties also discussed the status and prospects of cooperation in trade, economy, science and technology.
The Cuban president conveyed his sincere congratulations to Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on his convincing victory in the recent presidential election.
Following the meeting, the ambassador laid a wreath at the memorial to José Martí, a national hero of Cuba.
