MINSK, 24 July (BelTA) - Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov received copies of credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Belarus Nguyen Van Trung, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

“The parties reviewed the full range of bilateral and multilateral cooperation issues, with a focus on the current state of Belarus-Vietnam relations. They praised the positive momentum in contacts and a busy schedule of planned joint activities, including high-level visits, interparliamentary and interagency exchanges, and cooperation in science and culture,” the ministry reported.

The parties emphasized the need to expand bilateral trade, taking into account the results of the official visit of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam to Belarus in May 2025 and the session of the Belarus-Vietnam intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific, and technical cooperation held in Hanoi in April.

Maksim Ryzhenkov and Ambassador Nguyen Van Trung agreed that the top priorities on the bilateral agenda include the development of industrial cooperation, particularly in mechanical engineering, cooperation in pharmaceuticals, food production, and air transport.

“The parties emphasized the importance of continuing constructive cooperation and mutual support within universal and regional international organizations and on other multilateral platforms,” the press service added.

Maksim Ryzhenkov wished the ambassador success in his diplomatic mission in Belarus.
