Belarus takes part in BRICS Sherpas meeting in Brazil

MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Brazil Andrei Andreyev took part in the 4th BRICS Sherpas Meeting (a preparatory session of countries’ representatives ahead of the summit) on 12 December, BelTA learned from the Belarusian foreign mission in Brazil.

During the event, participants reviewed the organization’s work under Brazil’s chairmanship. In 2025, over 260 political, economic and humanitarian events were held within the BRICS framework, many of them with active participation from the Belarusian side.

India, as the next chair of the association, outlined the key priorities for BRICS development in 2026, including promoting sustainable development, advancing innovation, ensuring food and information security, and reforming global governance institutions.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the Belarusian ambassador held discussions with the heads of delegations from Brazil, Russia and several other countries on further cooperation within the association.
