MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Vietnam with concurrent accreditation to Laos Vladimir Borovikov has visited the city of Vientiane, representatives of the Belarusian embassy in Vietnam told BelTA.
The 8th session of the Belarus-Laos commission on military technology cooperation was opened with the participation of the ambassador. Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Laos Vanthong Bouttavong and First Deputy Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus Oleg Mishchenko discussed a broad range of matters concerning manufacturing cooperation of Belarusian and Laotian defense enterprises as well as prospects of stepping it up.
Vladimir Borovikov’s negotiations at the Industry and Trade Ministry focused on the enhancement of interaction in the field of product standardization and certification. At a meeting at the Ministry of Public Security of Laos the parties agreed to bolster cooperation with Belarusian law enforcement bodies.
Apart from that, in recognition of active assistance and a personal contribution to the intensification of interaction with the Lao People’s Democratic Republic the ambassador presented a Partnership lapel badge of merit of the diplomatic service to Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus in Vientiane Yuri Kerbo.
