Belarus, India discuss cooperation expansion

MINSK, 23 January (BelTA) – Belarusian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lukashevich met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Ashok Kumar on 23 January, BelTA has learned.

According to the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the first deputy minister emphasized Belarus’ readiness to work actively with New Delhi within India’s presidency in BRICS in 2026.

The parties reviewed the current agenda of bilateral relations, which covered high-level exchanges, further trade expansion between Belarus and India, and collaboration in international bodies.

The parties also emphasized the need to convene the 12th session of the Belarus-India Intergovernmental Economic Commission in Minsk at the earliest opportunity, along with events focusing on health, technology, and education.

Sergei Lukashevich extended congratulations to the head of the Indian Embassy on India’s 77th Republic Day.
