MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – By closing the border with Belarus Poland placed a mine that undermines relations with other countries. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov made the relevant statement on the air of the TV channel Belarus One, BelTA has learned.

Maxim Ryzhenkov said: “When Poland made the decision [to close the border with Belarus], it undermined its own interests and placed a mine that undermines relations with other countries.”

He mentioned that the minister of foreign affairs of the People’s Republic of China had visited Poland. The Belarusian diplomat believes that now Warsaw will have to offer excuses for its decisions to Beijing. “Let them explain to China why because of absolutely far-fetched reasons Chinese goods will stay at the border for more than a week and will not be able to reach their customers on time,” the Belarusian minister of foreign affairs noted.

Maxim Ryzhenkov is convinced that Poland will reopen the border once the Belarusian-Russian strategic army exercise Zapad 2025 is over. “It is unavoidable. They will have to open the border,” he stated.
