MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) – Belarus-China military technology cooperation is advancing to new heights, representatives of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus told BelTA after the 17th videoconference session of the Belarus-China committee for coordinating cooperation in armaments and military hardware on 17 December.
The Belarusian part of the committee was headed by Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus Dmitry Pantus while the Chinese part was led by Deputy Chief of the Equipment Development Department of China's Central Military Commission, Major-General He Yubin.
In his words, despite the pandemic Belarus-China military technology cooperation demonstrates positive dynamics, has a good potential and prospects for further advancement along a number of avenues that have competences and are of mutual interest.
In turn, Dmitry Pantus stressed the strategic significance of developing comprehensive bilateral relations. He said that Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Directive No.9 on advancing Belarus-China bilateral relations on 3 December. Military technology cooperation is one of the cooperation avenues the document mentions.
During the videoconference session the sides discussed results of Belarus-China military technology cooperation, praised the accomplishments in this field, and stressed that military technology cooperation represents an important indicator of Belarus-China strategic partnership, has a solid political foundation, and develops on principles of equality and mutually beneficial trust, meets basic interests of the two countries, the State Authority for Military Industry of Belarus told BelTA.
